| The OLD DOMINION CHAPTERNATIONAL RAILWAY HISTORICAL SOCIETY |
The Old Dominion Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS), chartered in 1957, is a non-profit, volunteer- based, educational organization dedicated to the preservation and presentation of past, present and future railroading in Central Virginia. The Chapter owns a number of historic passenger coaches and engines for preservation and for use on excursion train rides. |
We are a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code interested in collecting and preserving railroad artifacts, researching railroad history, maintaining our railroad museum and educating/entertaining the public about railroads and railroad safety.
If you are facinated by the sounds of a distant train whistle or secretly enjoy being stopped by a train at a grade crossing, our organization is for you. Our membership comes from many backgrounds, occupations, and interests. Come by and share your interests of trains and railroading with others!
